Lesson 2

Major Arcana cards represent the heart of any given situation. They are the main issue. (Major feelings, emotions and concerns)

Major Arcana is always given "extra weight" in a reading.

Major Arcana marked the Path of inner development.

The Major Arcana can also be called the "Fool's Journey" each card like an Archetype of a personality that we have yet to explore or a lesson we have yet to face.

The Fool: Beginning, journey, faith, spontaneity, joy, embracing silliness and taking chances.

The Magician- Having power, acting responsibly, concentration, focus and creativity. (Conscious awareness)

The High Priestess- Seeing potential, accessing the unconscious, patience, secrets, mystery, seeking the concealed, becoming calm and passive. (unconscious awareness)

The Empress- Mother Nature, abundance, pregnancy, sensing life, earthy etc.

The Emperor- Fatherly, discipline, regulation, structure, authority.

Hierophant- Education, religion, conforming, groups, ceremony, ritual.

The Lovers- Sexuality, personal belief, relating to all others, true to self and determining values.

Chariot- Restraining yourself, victory, asserting yourself when you need to be, self confidence, will and victory.

Strength- Patience, self control, compassion and becoming the rock.

Hermit- Solitude, searching, introspection, winter, going inside yourself, giving and receiving guidance (the wise man/woman).

Wheel of Fortune- Destiny, turning point, movement, personal vision.

Justice- Balance, decision, cause and effect, consequence, responsibility, karma.

Hanged Man- Letting go, reverse, suspending action, sacrificing for the greater good, accepting what is.

Death- Ending, transition, eliminating excess, experiencing  inexorable force, not being able to change the direction of the CHANGE headed your way.

Temperance- Health, consolidation, balance, finding middle ground, cooperation.

Devil- Bondage, materialism, hopeless and ignorance. Temptation leading to many issues.

The Tower- Sudden change, releasing, falling down, revelation.

Star- Hope, inspiration, generosity and serenity. Peace and light.

Moon-Bewilderment, anxiety, fear, easily distracted, vivid dreams, illusions.

Sun- Enlightenment, greatness, vitality and assurance.

Judgment-Being reborn, finding absolution, hearing a call, making a good/ right decision.

World-Integration, accomplishment, feeling involved, feeling fulfilled.

The Fool's Journey takes you through the cards on the fool's actual journey as he discovers and grows one card to the next. In the end he learns all there is to know, though never stops growing and is wiser for it all.

Lesson 1

1.1 I believe Tarot offers 100% guidance.

1.2 What do I see in the picture? A woman who is spider like in character, she is surrounded by a web, light and 4 elemental dragons. The card itself is a major arcana card- the star.
What emotions do I feel? She evokes a fear and a peace at the same time. She is very controlled and very wise, however, knowing she's an Arachnid makes her just a little but scary.
How do the details in the picture reinforce the idea? The web, her look and facial expressions. The look that says confidence and malevolence.
What is the overall mood? The star should be a card that could go either way. In this case the card looks a bit spiritual but mostly fearful.
What do I think the card means? I always thought the star was a good card and I am thinking what I see from this particular Artists interpretation that I may be wrong about my own. If were looking at interpretation you have to see the card for what it is.

Looking at the herbalist deck, which is more like Rider-Waite the star card can be easily seen as a card of hope and light. It really does depend on which deck your looking at and the artist who makes the card.  Also its one of my top 3 favorite herbs.

1.3 I think we all go through a time where we feel like we loose control of our lives. Control is important to me, I try not to loose it. It's happened quite a few times in my 20's. The last couple years I had to experience it again. To me loss of control is the same as fear of the unknown. I don't like not knowing. I like security and being sure, if I am not that my entire body out of sync. I remember the fear, worry and sickness it caused. That literal knot of pain.

Particulars and Notes about this lesson: Your inner guide is the same as your subconscious that you call when  you prepare for a reading. This is also the same things as your intuition. The voice to which guides you. The way I see it we all believe different things. I believe in my bear spirit which lives within me. This is the place where I draw my strength and find my peace. Its important to find this and connect with it before deciding to do a reading or to practice any manner of divination.
